Family Farmstead Workshop

Do you desire to move toward a more self-sustaining and rural lifestyle, but don’t know where to start? Come and join our Family Farmstead: the Suburban Farmette”- a Beginner’s Guide to Sustainable Living in a Small Space Workshop! In this one-day workshop, we will explore the benefits of simpler, healthier and organic living, and discover how to lead your family to a more self-sustaining lifestyle, even if you live in the city!

This practical and fun workshop will be a time of hands-on learning as we not only learn the wisdom of eating as God intended, but how to raise what we eat on our own property, even our backyard! The Family Farmstead: the “Suburban Farmette” workshop will assist you in laying the foundation to be self-sufficient, and give a springboard to learn even more about frugal and rural living!

Topics will include gardening, running a small family dairy, raising clean and healthy meat, canning, making homemade butter, kefir, cheese and soap. You will even get ideas for marketing your extra products!

Family Farmstead: the “Suburban Farmette” is hosted by a family who has created their own “suburban farmette” and now desires to teach others the valuable lessons that they have learned. Come and have a time of fellowship with each other and with other families as you learn how to be self-sufficient and work together!
