Deeper Walk Discipleship Conference- Abiding in the Vine

In John 15, Jesus gave one final sermon to His disciples before His death. This message is as vital for
us today as it was for the disciples in those last hours with Him. Jesus instructed His disciples on the importance of abiding in Him and challenged them to live a life of "Abiding in the Vine": "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine, no more can ye, except ye abide in Me" (John 15:4). As Christians, the Lord expects us to bear fruit. (See John 15:16.) How can we bear fruit through Him unless we first learn to abide in Jesus, the true vine?

The Deeper Walk Conference is designed to encourage your sons and daughters to abide in the Lord daily through spiritual refreshment and fellowship. They will be challenged to have a deeper walk with the Lord as they seek to follow Him and allow Him to bear fruit through their lives which will last for eternity. They will also learn how to effectively share their faith and disciple new believers.

Keith Daniel
Brother Keith Daniel (evangelist and missionary from South Africa) will be preaching practical messages each evening on abiding in the true Vine and removing distractions that hinder fruitful service to God from our lives. Daytime speakers will include Otto Koning, (retired missionary and author of The Pineapple Story series) who will be speaking on a heart for missions and spiritual warfare, Casper Koning (Otto's brother and Director of Gospel Text Mission) speaking on personal evangelism, and  Evangelist Dave Ford (pastor and host of the "America Back to God" radio program) speaking on prayer, and other pastors, teachers, and missionaries.

Sessions will include:
  • The Deeper Christian Life
  • How to Abide in the Vine
  • Developing Your Prayer Closet
  • How to Deal with Discouragement, Temptation, and Lukewarmness
    Otto Koning
  • The Vital Importance of Meditation
  • Soul Winning and Personal Evangelism
  • Discipling the New Believer
  • Introduction to Missions and the Harvest Field
  • Creative Ways for Reaching Children
  • And more!
The Deeper Walk Conference will be held November 3 - 5, 2014, on the beautiful grounds of the Heritage Ministry Center (also known as the Nashville Training Center). Although this is a conference designed especially to disciple and challenge young adults age 14 and up, any individuals or families who would also like to join us for a time of spiritual rejuvenation, growth, and encouragement in the Christian walk are welcome to attend!

Evening sessions (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday) will start at 7:00 pm. Daytime sessions (Tuesday and Wednesday) will run from 9:30 am until noon and from 1:30 pm until 5:00 pm.
The cost for youth attending will be $70 ($45 for each additional sibling), which includes an on-site hotel room and meals for Monday evening through Wednesday evening. The cost for not staying or eating on-site is a suggested donation of $15, with a family maximum of $30. Registration will be at the door. On-site accomodations are limited: contact the Heritage Ministry Center to reserve space.

Individuals and families desiring to attend the conference (or just the evening Keith Daniel sessions) may contact the Heritage Ministry Center for further information. We look forward to a time of rich fellowship and learning, and hope that you can join us!

Family Farmstead Workshop, August 4-6

Has your family desired to learn how to have a more self-sustainable, frugal family lifestyle, while at the same time seeing improvements in your family food choices through simpler, healthier, organic living?

Our new Family Farmstead:  the "Suburban Farmette" - a Beginner's guide to Sustainable Living with Smaller (or even tiny!) Yards will help you  not only see the wisdom of eating as God intended, but will also give you the foundation needed to raise and prepare your own organic vegetables, fruits and berries, and honey, as well as grass-based meat, eggs, and dairy products on a very small piece of property (or even in your backyard!!).  Topics will include organic gardening, small-scale dairying, backyard poultry, bees, rabbits, composting, worm beds, farmstead cheeses and soapmaking, and marketing your extra products!

This practical, hands-on class will be a fun time of exploring the concept of old-fashioned family farmsteading, realizing the great need to produce food that is both nourishing and economical, and learning how to be good stewards of our land, our time, and our resources.

Come and have an enjoyable time of fellowship with other families as you learn not only how to work together as a family producing your own food but also the rewards of drawing closer together once you go home as you work and fellowship as a family team to achieve a more self-sustaining lifestyle.

This two and one half day workshop will teach you the basics you will need to  know to learn how to begin gardening organically, raise clean, healthy meat, eggs, and dairy products, produce your own cheeses and butter, and learn how to turn your excess products into cottage-industry opportunities for extra family income.

Family Homestead: the "Suburban Farmette" will be held on August 4 - 6, 2014, (Monday evening through Wednesday) at the Heritage Ministry Center in Madison, TN (Nashville area), with a field trip scheduled to a local family-run goat dairy/farmstead cheese plant in the area.

This is a workshop for the entire family!  The cost will be $125 per family.  On-site family-friendly hotel rooms will be available at $55 per room each night (rooms sleep up to five).  All meals starting with Monday dinner and through Wednesday lunch will be included in the room rates for those staying on-site.  (A meal ticket option will be available for drive-in attendees - sign up when you make your class reservations.)
